NEW GLASGOW – I. Doris Rhyno, 92, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Sutherlands River and Thorburn, passed away peacefully Friday, June 1, 2018, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Bristol, N.B., she was a daughter of the late William and Marjorie (Brown) Patrick.

Our Mom was a busy lady but always had time for her family and others. Mom and

Dad raised a family of eleven children but we were all important to them to the end. Mom supported us through happy and sad times. She was an avid seamstress sewing everything from ski pants, jackets to new dresses for Christmas concerts, Easter, prom and wedding gowns. She also made quilts, knit many mitts, hats, scarves, sweaters and leggings for her last three great-great-grandsons.

Mom was a 4-H leader, a lifetime member of Greenwood AMS, and enjoyed taking time for Bible study with the ladies from the Blue Mountain area and the Thorburn Fellowship Group. She attended and loved her extended family with the Presbyterian Cursillo Group. In later years she attended the Pictou County Ostomy Group. She enjoyed joining our Dad at Glen Haven. She enjoyed the many activities joining the choir and hand bells. She was employed by Dr. Skinner, Ross Furs, Aberdeen Hospital and Thorburn Consolidated School. Mom was never afraid of learning something new, at the age of ninety-one she got an iPad and learned to email and Facetime, something not all of us can do.
