WEEKLY EVENTS Sundays

• Auction 45s – New Glasgow 50Plus Club 7:30 p.m. Open to public.

• Pictou County Fly Tyers Club – Meets 6:30-9 p.m. at the Stellarton Seniors Club building at the corner of Park Street and Acadia Avenue. All necessary instructio­ns, equipment and materials will be provided. Novice and experience­d tyers are welcomed.

• Karaoke – Westville Legion, 7 p.m.

• Meat Roll – Pictou Legion, 2 p.m. All welcome.

• Meditation – East River Meditation Centre, New Glasgow, 7 p.m. All welcome, please call ahead, 755-4325.

• Hootenanny – Stellarton legion, 6-10 p.m. $7 per person.

• Cafe and Market – Merigomish Schoolhous­e Community Centre, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. featuring a brunch and local market items for sale.

• Tea – Star of the Sea Centre after the 11:15 a.m. Stella Maris Mass. Everyone welcome.

• Dance – Stellarton legion 6-10 p.m. Cost $8 per person.

• Card Party – Auction 45s at 7 p.m. at the Meadowvill­e - Poplar Hill Community Hall. Everyone welcome.

• Drop-in Badminton – For adults at New Glasgow Academy 7:30 p.m.9:30 p.m. New members welcome.

• TOPS Group – Take Pounds Off Sensibly, non-profit organizati­on, Superstore community room, 9:3011:30 a.m.

• Mixed Darts – New Glasgow 55+ Club, 1:30 p.m., New Glasgow Fire Hall.

• Over 50 Prize Bingo – Royal Canadian Legion, New Glasgow, 1:30 p.m. Lunch served.

• Two Churches Yard Sale – Scotsburn United Church will hold a joint yard sale with Bethel Presbyteri­an Church from 7-11 a.m. Tables will be set up at both churches with a selection of plants for sale at Scotsburn United. Rain or shine.

• Show & Sale – Pictou County Historical Bottle Club, 122 Park St. Stellarton, corner of Acadia & Park streets, beside Allan Park, 10 a.m.4 p.m.

• Super Saturday – Lyons Brook Hall. “Betsey” Pancake Breakfast (free will donation) and community yard sale begin at 8 a.m. Variety Show beginning 7 p.m. Tables available for $10. Admission for the Variety Show is $5 and will be followed with dessert and refreshmen­ts for $4.

• Performanc­e – Pictou County Community Orchestra Concert at First Presbyteri­an Church Upper Hall, 206 MacLean St., New Glasgow,

3 p.m. Also performing will be the St. James Brass Quintet from Antigonish.

• Crafty Saturdays – Trenton library 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

• Informatio­n BBQ – Hosted by Pictou County Prostrate Cancer Support Associatio­n 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Sobeys West Side store.

• Auction 45’s – Trenton legion 1 p.m.

• Auction and Dance – Westville Legion. Viewing starts at noon, bidding at 1 p.m. Dance starts following auction. Admission for dance $7 at door. Music by Allan O’Brien & Rocking Country.

• Test Drive Event – Anchor Toyota 10 a.m.-1 p.m., fundraiser for A.G. Baillie Home & School. Each test drive raise $25 for the school. Prebook or just show up. BBQ on site, $100 square promotion, radio remote.

• Pictou County Volunteer Ground Search & Rescue – Selling tickets on a Father’s Day basket worth $550-plus in gift certificat­es at local businesses. Tickets $2 or three for $5 at Highland Square Mall 10 a.m.-7 p.m. or 902-485-5405. Draw June 16.

June 9-10

• Art Show – Union Centre Community Hall (exit 20) sponsored by Dan Munro and Friends. Saturday 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Sunday 1-4 p.m.

• With the Wind in Our Sail – Spring Concert of the Trinitaria­n

choir and the Voicetime Music Studio Singers. Directed by Monica George Punke, and special guests Nicole Ross, Soprano, Luke MacIsaac, Baritone, and Hayley MacLeod (Violin/Fiddle),

• Gospel Concert – Second United Baptist Church, 330 Washington St., New Glasgow, 6 p.m. Pictou United Church Choir, Pictou County Brass & Reed Band, Ray & Marlene MacDonald/Jim & Nancy Craig, Lisa Hallett & Shirley Teasdale, Floyd Rudolph, Diane McNeil, Stellarton Male Chorus. All welcome, freewill offering, fellowship and lunch.

• French River Cemetery – Annual meeting 2 p.m. at French River hall. Plot holders and associates are encouraged to attend.

June 11

Women Alike Group Meeting – Glen Haven Manor (back door) 7 p.m. Guest speaker Amanda Eva MacLeod will speak about mental health. This is a meeting for breast cancer survivors. Snacks provided at the end.

June 11-25

• Photo Display – SNAPS (Scotsburn Northumber­land Amateur Photograph­ic Society) will be putting on a display at the de Coste Centre in Pictou.
