To join Tuesday or Thursday book club in September call the library and speak with Bonnie or Janice. • Pictou County Fuel Fund – Annual general meeting 4:30 p.m. at Summer Street Industries in New Glasgow. The organization offers fuel once per heating season to individuals and households in urgent need.

• Book Sale – Thursday, Friday 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-12, held by Lady of Lourdes CWL, Sister Catherine Steele Centre in Lourdes. Donations welcome.

• Riverside Cemetery Company – Annual meeting, Aberdeen Sobeys community room 6:30 p.m. Caretakers of Riverside, Pioneer and Lorne St. cemeteries. Lot holders and all others welcome.

• Teddy Bear Sleepover – New Glasgow library 6 p.m. Register your stuffed friend, read them a story, tuck them in for the night, make a craft to take home. Pick up your stuffed animal Saturday morning. All ages.
