WEEKLY EVENTS Saturdays

• Knitting Circle – Alternatin­g Saturdays at 2:30 p.m., New Glasgow library.

• Auction 45’s – Pictou New Horizons Club, 7 p.m. Admission $2.

• Karaoke – New Glasgow Legion by Doug Odo, 9 p.m.-1 a.m.

• Family Lego Time – Pictou library, runs all day. All are welcome.

• Card Party – Bridgevill­e Community Hall 7:30 p.m. Lunch served. Everyone welcome.

• Imaginatio­n Saturdays – Make something cool to take home, crafts, Lego (drop-in, all ages) 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Pictou Library; 10 a.m.-3 p.m. River John Library; 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Westville Public Library; 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Stellarton Public Library.

• Steak Darts – Pictou Legion 1:30 p.m.

• Riverside Cemetery Company – Annual meeting, Aberdeen Sobeys community room 6:30 p.m. Caretakers of Riverside, Pioneer and Lorne St. cemeteries. Lot holders and all others welcome.

• Teddy Bear Sleepover – New Glasgow library 6 p.m. Register your stuffed friend, read them a story, tuck them in for the night, make a craft to take home. Pick up your stuffed animal Saturday morning. All ages.

• Family Round and Square Dance – St. Mary’s Parish Hall, Hwy 245 Maryvale, Antigonish Co., 9 p.m.-12. Music provided by Rodney MacDonald and guest. Admission $10. Children 12 and under free when accompanie­d by an adult. Tea and sweets provided!

• Live Music – Dennis & Bud at Trenton Legion 8 p.m.-close.

• Chase the Ace – Stellarton legion 7-10 p.m. Jackpot $3,461, 28 cards left.

June 15-16

• Book Sale – Friday 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-12, held by Lady of Lourdes CWL, Sister Catherine Steele Centre in Lourdes. Donations welcome.

June 16

• Father’s Day – Card & craft Pictou library 2 p.m. Materials & ideas supplied.

• Re-Connecting with Nature – Workshop, hands-on day of adventure to improve your ability to lead and share an appreciati­on and understand­ing of nature with children and youth. In Trenton on June

• Annual Fish for a Wish – Hosted by Pictou County Chapter of Children’s Wish and LORDA 10am-2pm., at LORDA Park, 1480 Highway 289, Lansdowne. Fundraisin­g BBQ, door prizes, face painting, 50/50 and trophies for biggest and littlest fish.

• Yard & Plant Sale – 8-11:30 a.m. at Pictou United Church, 47 James St., in support of the life and ministry of the church. Donations accepted until June 14. Call 902-485-8081 for details.

• Benefit Potluck Supper – For Freddie Smith of Springvill­e at Springvill­e Church Hall 4-6 p.m. Adults $10, children under 12 $5. Sponsored by Union #30 Oddfellows, East River Valley Fire Dept. and East River Pastoral Charge Churches.

• Retired Teachers Organizati­on – Pictou branch hosting hot breakfast at their AGM on June 19, cost $5. Reserve by June 16 by calling 902923-2965. • Fathers Day Movie – I Can Only Imagine, a true father and son story that led to the contempora­ry christian song, I Can Only Imagine by Mercy Me. Maranatha Bible Church, 490 Abercrombi­e Rd., New Glasgow 6 p.m. Everyone warmly welcomed. No charge.

• Gospel Singers – Performing at Meadowvill­e-Poplar Hill Community Hall Black River Road, Meadowvill­e, 7 p.m.

• Northumber­land Adult Brain Tumour Support Group – Regular meeting in the Main Floor Lounge of the East River Manor, 690 East River Rd., 6:30 p.m.
