Pictou County youth compete at Gathering of the Clans

- PUGWASH, N.S.

The Pugwash Gathering of the Clans held their Highland dance competitio­n on July 2. Eileen Forrester of Cape Breton was the judge.

Several Pictou County dancers competed and their results are as follows:

Primary – Ashlynn MacKenzie: Fling 5th.

Beginner 8 & Under – Ruby Beaton: Fling 4th, Sword 7th, Sean Triubhas 5th, Lauren McNamara: Sword 5th

Intermedia­te 11 & Under – Penelope Brown: Fling 4th, Sean Triubhas 4th, Barracks 6th (tie).

Intermedia­te 12 & Over – Alyssa Ells: Sean Triubhas 1st, Laddies 1st, Barracks 1st, High aggregate trophy winner.

Premier 12 & 13 – Lauren Hiltz: Blue Bonnets 1st, Flora 2nd, Village Maid 4th, Lilt 1st, High aggregate trophy winner.

-Amelia Parker: Village Maid 2nd, Lilt 2nd.

Premier 16 & Over – Ellen Coffin: Blue Bonnets 4th, Flora 2nd, Village Maid 2nd, Lilt 3rd.

-Christina Chudley: Blue Bonnets 3rd, Flora 4th, Lilt 5th.

-Beth McNeill: Blue Bonnets 2nd, Flora 3rd, Village Maid 5th, Lilt 4th.
