Pictou County youth compete at Gathering of the Clans
The Pugwash Gathering of the Clans held their Highland dance competition on July 2. Eileen Forrester of Cape Breton was the judge.
Several Pictou County dancers competed and their results are as follows:
Primary – Ashlynn MacKenzie: Fling 5th.
Beginner 8 & Under – Ruby Beaton: Fling 4th, Sword 7th, Sean Triubhas 5th, Lauren McNamara: Sword 5th
Intermediate 11 & Under – Penelope Brown: Fling 4th, Sean Triubhas 4th, Barracks 6th (tie).
Intermediate 12 & Over – Alyssa Ells: Sean Triubhas 1st, Laddies 1st, Barracks 1st, High aggregate trophy winner.
Premier 12 & 13 – Lauren Hiltz: Blue Bonnets 1st, Flora 2nd, Village Maid 4th, Lilt 1st, High aggregate trophy winner.
-Amelia Parker: Village Maid 2nd, Lilt 2nd.
Premier 16 & Over – Ellen Coffin: Blue Bonnets 4th, Flora 2nd, Village Maid 2nd, Lilt 3rd.
-Christina Chudley: Blue Bonnets 3rd, Flora 4th, Lilt 5th.
-Beth McNeill: Blue Bonnets 2nd, Flora 3rd, Village Maid 5th, Lilt 4th.
