Food trucks draw attention to bylaw

-

PICTOU — A Pictou town bylaw affecting food trucks is getting a second look.

Pictou Mayor Jim Ryan has asked staff to review its vendor bylaw to consider changes to the laws that haven’t been updated since 2004. Ryan said the bylaw review has been prompted by ongoing concerns regarding the licensing of mobile food vendors and the fee structure. The town currently charges $250 a week for food truck vendors operating within town limits.

He said while the bylaw is being reviewed, vendors are welcome to contact town staff for more information about operating in the town.
