Town seeks candidate for CEF advisory board

PICTOU — The Town of Pictou is seeking a new representative on the CEF Community Advisory Board.

Former Pictou Mayor Lawrence LeBlanc has held the position since 1995 when he was contacted by the Department of National Defence, asking if the town would house the 144 Construction Engineering Flight.

He served as vice-chair for 17 years and as chairman for the last five. During that time, about 280 community projects were completed by the flight. The town is now accepting expressions of interest in the position in an effort to find a suitable replacement for LeBlanc.
