Surprise yourself and join a choir

“I haven’t got a voice worth listening to” and “I can’t read music” are common excuses offered by folks who love music, who love sharing music but who have never had the opportunity to actually make music.

If you are one of these folks, then, maybe, the Trinitarians is a choir for you.

The Trinitarians is a community choir of men and women that meets at Trinity United Church in New Glasgow. It rehearses each Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon. It operates from September to December to get ready for its annual “Sing Joy” Christmas concert and again from March to June for an end-of-year spring concert.

First and foremost, joining a choir like the Trinitarians means that you get to meet with about 50 other singers to have fun and enjoy each other’s company. You get to sing a wide variety of music while learning the finer points of singing with others, learning how to read music, and make and communicate each song to maximum effect.

If that were not enough, research tells us there are all kinds of health benefits to be reaped from being a choir member. Here are some that current members of the Trinitarians would attest to:
