Pictou County Athletics holding early registration
STELLARTON, N.S. — Pictou County Athletics (PCA) will hold early registration for its 2019 membership Nov. 28 at the Pictou County Wellness Center from 7-9 p.m.
PCA’s 13+ program begins on Jan. 2 at the YMCA, with additional practice days on Fridays at the indoor soccer facility and Sunday afternoons at NNEC. Those who register for PCA on Nov. 28 will have their name put in for a draw for a PCA team jacket. A 50 per cent deposit will be accepted for early registration fees, with the remainder due Jan. 2.
Team fees are $335 for a full year (January to mid-August) or $195 for the winter session (January to April 1). Both fees include the Athletics NS fee of $75, which is necessary for insurance coverage. A one-month trial membership will also be available at a cost of $115, which also includes the ANS $75 fee. If the athlete wishes
to continue after the first month, the amount already paid will go towards full or winter membership fees.
PCA has been in operation for the past seven years and has made great strides in club development and individual successes. Athletics (or track and field) is also well known for being an excellent crosstraining sport.
Other programs offered by PCA are the Trailblazers program for ages nine to 12 and Masters for ages 35 and up. Both of these programs start Jan. 4 and early registration will happen at the same time as the 13+ program.
