CARAGULIAN, Sandra E. (Mackay) 81.

-

With a tremendous sense of loss, we announce the passing of our mother on Saturday, August 24, 2019, in Cambridge Massachusetts. She courageously faced terminal illness with grace, courage and determination. Born in Eureka, such as her parents, she was the daughter of the late John W. Mackay and Marion L. MacDonald (Black). She was the sister to the late Carol A. Kennedy (Mackay) of Pictou Landing and Donald G. Mackay currently of New Glasgow. She leaves her devoted daughter, Lee Ann Hamm (Caragulian) of Whitinsville MA.; beloved son, Leon S. Caragulian of Ware MA.; and her much loved granddaughters, Alycia N. Hamm and Melanie P. Hamm of Whitinsville, MA. Grieving too is her most cherished possession, her little white dog, “Jack” whom she adored and doted on. Our mother spent her life giving to and caring for others. Her cozy home was always open for a cup of tea or a hot meal plated in minutes followed by a sweet coming straight from her oven. Her knowledge, wisdom, humor and understanding was a mainstay around the kitchen table. Our mother remained private and fiercely independent throughout her life and continued her journey to the next the same as she lived. During her final hours she found great peace knowing that her brother Don loved her and that he had travelled to the states to tell her so. Cremation was immediate at Mount Auburn Cemetery Cambridge MA. A small graveside service is anticipated Spring 2020, Riverton Cemetery; Riverton, Pictou County.
