CONGRATULATIONS TO EASTERN CANADA

-

Congratulations to Eastern Canada on re-electing your Prime Minister Trudeau!

Truth be told, we in Western Canada are a tad jealous as we don’t have our own PM, but we will make do somehow.

We are concerned that your choice has such a dismal work history.

He has multiple ethics violations, numerous broken promises, told some bald-faced lies, and he created an identity politics machine that has divided our nation geographically, ethnically, morally and financially. True diversity!

But our biggest concern is that your prime minister seems intent on leveraging this country’s future by continuing to spend your money while telling you that it is a good plan.

The International Monetary Fund’s 2018 calculations show Canada’s debt as a percentage of Gross National Product is actually 87.5 per cent, not 33 per cent as your leader has repeatedly told you. GDP is a total of financial productivity from across Canada and thus debt from the provinces and the federal government must be included in the total.

Your leader is ignoring the provincial debt and is describing to you what the federal government’s “net debt” would be if it sold all of its assets and then lowered the federal debt by that amount.

We are currently spending $26.2 billion per year of your tax money paying interest on the debt, but sadly it is rising rapidly. Sadly but sincerely, Scott MacKay Abbotsford, Western Canada

P.S. Who is this Butts fellow? He seems to be running the show behind your leader.
