• Auction 45’s – at Meadowvill­ePoplar Hill Community Hall, Mondays at 7 p.m., starting April 22.

• Weekly Card Party – at Bridgevill­e Community Hall, Saturdays at 7:30 pm. Lunch served. New wheelchair accessible bathrooms.

• Gamblers Anonymous – Gamblers Anonymous meeting held every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Trinity United Church, 151 Temperance Street, New Glasgow, N.S. (side door by office). Do you or someone you know have a gambling problem? Want to stop? We can help!

• Karaoke Night – at RCL Branch 35, Westville, Sunday nights with Kerry Williams from 7:30 – 11 p.m. Admission is $2/person.

• Stellarton Legion Chase the Ace – weekly Saturday Nights at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for sale daily in the lounge. Tickets $5 for 4. You do not need to be present to win.

• Weekly Music Circle Café Jam

– Wednesdays 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. at West Branch Hall. Admission for players is free, listeners free will, $2.50 suggested. Limited kitchen. Proceeds; Community Hall. Shared sweets.

• Stellarton and Area Lions Club – Meeting time 6:30 p.m. - 2nd and 4th Monday in RCAFA-meeting room – 221 Foord St, Stellarton NS. Visitors welcome.

• Card Party – Every Monday night at 7:30 p.m. (45s played), at Odd Fellows Hall Westville. Lunch provided.

• Amateur Ball Hockey – Friday nights all summer long, 6-8 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 384 Abercrombi­e Road, New Glasgow. Assorted sticks provided if required. • Silver Dart Collection – A unique collection of watercolou­r paintings of Cape Breton scenes assembled together for the first time. The Silver Dart collection was commission­ed from well-known Nova Scotia artist Joseph Purcell (1927-2018) for the innovative Silver Dart Motel, built on the shores of the Bras d’Or Lakes in Baddeck in 1960. The inspiratio­n behind this collection allows us to explore the tourism industry at that time. Until Oct. 31, at the Museum of Industry, Stellarton.

• Jam Sessions – at the Durham Community Hall every Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. Shared lunch. Silver

• Employabil­ity Skills Workshops – for youth held at Roots House Wednesdays from 4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Workshops are for any youth aged 16 - 24. Topics include: Interview Skills, Conflict Resolution, Communicat­ion, Dressing for Success, and many more.

• Lego Builders Club – Tuesdays 3 to 4 p.m. at Museum of Industry, Stellarton. Ages 5 and older. Drop in to build, invent and create with Lego, including special projects featuring gears, machines, and mechanisms. Free admission, no pre-registrati­on required.

• Service Discontinu­ed – Zone 6, Royal Canadian Legion is discontinu­ing its annual County Memorial Service held on the Sunday preceding Remembranc­e Day. All branches will continue to hold a service Nov. 11 at their local cenotaphs. • Hunters Breakfast – Saturdays Oct. 26- Dec. 14 at Springvill­e Church Hall, 6:30-10 a.m. October 31 • Soup and Dessert Luncheon – St Bees’ Anglican Church (Helping Hands) Westville, 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. November 1 • Music with Dennis and Bud – 8:30 p.m. to close at Trenton Legion. November 2 • The Beary Merry Christmas Coffee Party – hosted by St. George’s ACW 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Coffee cakes, biscuits, muffins, quiche, and pigs in the blanket, tea, coffee, juice, water. Bake table, New to You Table. Cost $7. Raffle draw on Stain Glass Angel and Snowman.

• Seafood Chowder Supper – at the Toney River Community Hall, beginning at 4 p.m. Cost - $10, includes dessert. Eat in or take-out.

• Fall Pancake Breakfast – Scotsburn United Church, 8-10:30 a.m. Pancakes with local maple syrup, whipped cream and blueberry sauce, maple sausage, homemade baked beans, juice, tea and coffee – gluten-free option available. $10 per adult and $5 per child, children under 5 yrs free.

• Fall Harvest Tea – 11 a.m.1 p.m. at Bridgevill­e Community Club (old Bridgevill­e School). Chili, rolls, biscuits along with gingerbrea­d and lemon sauce. Eat in or take out. Admission $6. Bake table and New to You. Tickets on a Christmas Basket. All welcome

– St. Paul United Church, Westville. Sale 3:30 p.m. Dinner beginning at 4 p.m. Adults and take-outs $14. Children under 12 $6.

• Calvin Ladies Aid Christmas

Tea & Sale – at IOOF Hall Sunny Brae from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Adults $4, children $1. Craft, Pantry Tables, New to You tables. • Christmas Coffee Party – at First Presbyteri­an church hall, Prince St, Pictou, from 10 a.m.- noon. Pantry table, new to you table, books, etc.

November 3

• Annual Hip of Beef Dinner – 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Mini Trail Community Centre on Highway 337, Lakevale. Enjoy this buffet style dinner of roast beef, fresh vegetables, salad, rolls and an assortment of desserts made by local bakers. $20 for adults $8 for children. Takeout’s available. • Chase the Ace – Westville Rink and Westville Legion, 1-3 p.m. held at Westville Legion Br# 35. Jackpot is at $5,915.

November 4

• Monday Music in Alma – presents a concert featuring Mrs B and the Drones at 7:30 p.m. This group of local musicians plays music that is bluesy, countryish, folksy, easy rock with a smidge of jazz. Venue: Grenn Hill - Alma United Church. Admission: $10 or what you can afford.

November 6

• Potluck Supper – at First Presbyteri­an Church, Hopewell, 4 p.m. until sold out. Take-out available. Adults $10. Everyone welcome.

November 8-9

• Ten Thousand Villages Festival Sale – at Pictou United Church, 47 James St. Nov. 8, from 6-8 p.m. and Nov. 9 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free admission.

November 9

• Tea and Sale – sponsored by Holy Name C.W.L. 5-7 p.m. in Holy Name Parish Hall.. Lunch will be served. There will be: a pantry table, craft table and New-to-you table. There will also be tickets sold on a quilt, a grocery box, calendars, and other items.

November 10

• Hot Salmon Supper – at the Lismore Hall, 3-5 p.m. Adults/$15. Children under 12/$8. Take outs and deliveries also. Free admission to Christmas Craft Sale which will run at the same time. For further info call 902-926-2589.

November 11

• Eureka Remembranc­e Day Service – 11 a.m. at the Eureka Fire Hall cenotaph, where the wreaths will be laid and then proceeding to the hall for the rest of the service. Speaker is Sgt. Michael J McIntyre RCAF retired. There will be a sing along of the old war songs followed by refreshmen­ts.
