Tribute double-header slated for deCoste
Well-seasoned bands present the music of Tom Petty and CCR
PICTOU, N.S. — The ultimate rock concert is coming to Pictou at the deCoste Performing Arts Centre with tributes for two of the greatest rock shows of all time.
This amazing entertainment features the music of Tom Petty and CCR (Creedence Clearwater Revival) performed by members of bands Practically Petty and Green River Revival. These two iconic tribute bands join for a night of greatest hits and an awesome night out.
They perform Friday, Nov. 22, at 7:30 p.m.
Green River was founded in the 1980s by the late Ken Moores and the band toured Canada extensively with their Vietnam-themed tribute to CCR. After a hiatus in Japan and Florida, Moores reformed the band with Joe Brett and Brian Jennings in 2000. The band continues to carry the torch as Green River Revival.
For almost two decades the band has been performing the greatest hits of CCR internationally at rock concerts, fairs and festivals, casinos, benefits and fundraisers and more. The band has also opened for acts that include Dr. Hook, Nazareth, Tom Cochrane, Glass Tiger, April Wine, Trooper and others. Recently their LIVE CD was officially licenced by John Fogerty’s record company.

Practically Petty, has been mesmerizing audiences throughout Canada since forming in the fall of 2009.
Every performance is true to the spirit and essence of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers with the look and sound. Group members pride themselves on utilizing the same equipment as the Heartbreakers, to leave no stone unturned. Their extensive song catalogue includes all of
Petty’s hits with the Heartbreakers as well as his solo work and other side projects like The Traveling Wilburys.
