• Gamblers Anonymous – Gamblers Anonymous meeting held every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Trinity United Church, 151 Temperance Street, New Glasgow, N.S. (side door by office). We can help! • Karaoke Night – at RCL Branch 35, Westville, Sunday nights with Kerry Williams from 7:30 – 11 p.m. Admission is $2/person.

• Weekly Music Circle Café Jam

– Wednesdays 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. at West Branch Hall. Admission for players is free, listeners free will, $2.50 suggested. Limited kitchen. Proceeds; Community Hall. Shared sweets.

• Stellarton and Area Lions Club – Meeting time 6:30 p.m. - 2nd and 4th Monday in RCAFA-meeting room – 221 Foord St, Stellarton NS. Visitors welcome.

• Amateur Ball Hockey – Friday nights all summer long, 6-8 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 384 Abercrombi­e Road, New Glasgow. Assorted sticks provided if required. • Silver Dart Collection – A unique collection of watercolou­r paintings of Cape Breton scenes assembled together for the first time. The Silver Dart collection was commission­ed from well-known Nova Scotia artist Joseph Purcell (1927-2018) for the innovative Silver Dart Motel, built on the shores of the Bras d’Or Lakes in Baddeck in 1960. The inspiratio­n behind this collection allows us to explore the tourism industry at that time. Until Oct. 31, at the Museum of Industry, Stellarton.

• Jam Sessions – at the Durham Community Hall every Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. Shared lunch. Silver collection. All welcome.

• Employabil­ity Skills Workshops – for youth held at Roots House Wednesdays from 4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Workshops are for any youth aged 16 - 24. Topics include: Interview Skills, Conflict Resolution, Communicat­ion, Dressing for Success, and many more.

• Lego Builders Club – Tuesdays 3 to 4 p.m. at Museum of Industry, Stellarton. Ages 5 and older. Drop in to build, invent and create with

Lego, including special projects featuring gears, machines, and mechanisms. Free admission, no pre-registrati­on required.

• Service Discontinu­ed – Zone 6, Royal Canadian Legion is discontinu­ing its annual County Memorial Service held on the Sunday preceding Remembranc­e Day. All branches will continue to hold a service Nov. 11 at their local cenotaphs.

• Hunters Breakfast – Saturdays Oct. 26- Dec. 14 at Springvill­e Church Hall, 6:30-10 a.m.

• Salvation Army Toy Registrati­on – program for low income families. All families with children, infant to 12 years of age, can apply. Dates to apply: Tues. Nov. 12, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Salvation Army Church, Main St., Westville; Wed. Nov. 13, 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at Salvation Army Church, Main St. Westville and Thurs. • 34th Annual Christmas Craft Shoppe – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Mill Brook Community Club, 1731 Millbrook Road, Pictou County. Cash or Visa only. Admission $2 Large selection of hand crafted items, pantry table. Take Exit 20 and follow the signs.

November 16

• Coffee Party – Plymouth Fire Hall, 10 a.m.- noon. Adults, $8. Children, $4. Bake, book new to you tables.

• Annual Christmas Tea & Sale – St Bees’ Church Hall, Westville, from 2-4 p.m. Serving Chicken a la king, dessert, tea or coffee. Admission $8. Bake and New-to-You tables.

• CARMA Pictou County – fundraiser at New Horizons Clubhouse in Pictou, 14 Kempt St. Event is called ‘Sip Soup to Save the Cats’ and will feature homemade soups for sale that come with a roll and a cat cookie. The event will run from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Eat in or take out options. Vegan soup option as well.

• Christmas Craft Fair - 9th Annual Christmas in Durham Craft Fair held at the Durham Community Hall, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. All local artisans and crafters. Admission $2. Featuring locally crafted items and baked goods.

November 17

• Pictou County Ostomy Support Group – meets in the boardroom, first floor, Aberdeen Hospital, 2 p.m. New members welcome. For more info call 902-485-4822.

November 18

• St. John the Baptist CWL Christmas Tea and Sale – 7-9 p.m., St. John the Baptist Church, 390 High St. New Glasgow. Tea, sandwiches and sweets will be served. There will be a pantry table, craft table and more, as well as ticket draw. $5 per person ($2 children)

• Gospel Concert – with Master’s Hand Ministry at Westville Salvation Army, 7 p.m. Admission $5. Refreshmen­ts and fellowship to follow.

November 20

• Westville Salvation Army – community luncheon, 11:30 a.m. -12:45 p.m. All welcome.

• Christmas Tea and Sale – Sponsored by UCW of First United Church Trenton, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Assorted sandwiches and desserts, biscuits, raisin bread and cheese. Pantry and craft table available. Admission $8/adult. Children, $4.

November 21

• The Plaid Marquee – will screen the mysterious comedy, Where’d You Go, Bernadette, at 7 p.m. Starring Cate Blanchett. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Admission $10.

• Monthly Meeting – of the Pictou County Prostate Cancer Support Associatio­n, 7 p.m. in the UCT Building behind Summer Street Industries on Park Street, New Glasgow. The public is invited to attend. The building is wheelchair accessible. A social time will follow.

November 22

• Christmas Soup and Dessert Luncheon – at First Presbyteri­an Church, New Glasgow, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Use James St. entrance. Your choice of soup, biscuit/roll, coffee/tea and dessert. $8. Pantry table available.

• Aberdeen Hospital Auxiliary Craft Group Sale – 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the main lobby of the hospital. Items for sale include Christmas crafts and decoration­s, tablecloth­s, runners and place mats, baby and children’s items, handmade baby quilts and a queen size quilt for $450.

November 23

• Christmas Tea & Sale – at the Abercrombi­e Community Centre, 2-4 p.m. Pantry Table, books, crafts, new-to-you, ticket tables, grocery box. Door Prizes. Admission $4.

• Broadway & Beyond – with Funtastiks and Friends, 3 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Presbyteri­an Church, New Glasgow. • MOM to MOM Sale – at New Glasgow Academy (93 Albert St. New Glasgow), 12-2 p.m. Admission $2. Seller tables can be rented for $18 each or 2/$35.
