FESTIVE ARTISAN SHOW Nov. 22, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Celebrate a festive evening of artisans at the Truro Farmers’ Market Cooperativ­e. More than 30 artisans from all around the province will be taking over the inside of Market Hall from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22. The Downtown Truro Partnershi­p’s annual tree lighting is also taking place that evening in Civic Square, so it’s a great time to get in the holiday spirit and start your Christmas shopping. Keep your eyes peeled on the event Facebook page for a full list of participat­ing artisans, as well as some sneak peeks of the beautiful work and tasty foods they’ll be bringing. FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS Nov. 22, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Kick off the holiday season with the annual tree lighting ceremony. The Festival of Lights will take place in Civic Square starting at 7 p.m. Festivitie­s will include the parade of lights with the Truro/ Colchester emergency vehicles, performanc­es by the Truro Youth Singers and the Truro Concert Band, hot chocolate and cake provided by Sobeys and Bible Hill Kinsmen, the tree lighting and Civic Square lighting, as well as fireworks.

DOWNTOWN DOLLARS AT TRURO FARMERS’ MARKET Nov. 23, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Don’t miss the Downtown Dollar sale and giveaway. Buy $40 of Downtown Dollars and immediatel­y win free Downtown Dollars. Each $40 purchase earns you a minimum of $5 for free, but you might also draw $10 or $20. Each individual may purchase up to $200. Not sure what Downtown Dollars are? Downtown Dollars are Truro’s own local currency. Used just like cash and accepted at more than 100 downtown Truro businesses, including the farmers market vendors.

Santa is coming to the Truro public library. Bring your camera/phone and a donation to the Colchester Food Bank and have your picture taken with Santa during these times: • Nov. 23, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

• Dec. 7, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
