ALMA, N.S. — The cozy little Green Hill – Alma United Church will be sampling some new Christmas goodies when Campbell + Green take the stage on Dec. 2.

These musicians have some new Christmas songs to bring to the audience and will share other materials that will introduce this duo to more music lovers in Pictou County. The pair played a house concert in Salt Springs earlier this year and those who attended have learned what a talented twosome they are and what an entertaining evening they provide for those in attendance.

Husband and wife duo Campbell + Green deliver a feelgood performance with tight harmonies, excellent musicianship and strong songwriting.

Their warm blend, evocative imagery and heartfelt melodies is a roller-coaster of emotion. Their relaxed on-stage presence, humorous banter and storytelling has captivated audiences across Europe and Canada.

They have been together since 2005 and their focus on songwriting has seen them cross genres and styles: folk, pop, country, blues and even light jazz grooves have all found their way into their original songs which are featured on their albums and heard on TV.

Cailin Green sings and plays guitar and grew up singing in churches, musical theatre and country rock bands. When she is not on the road, Cailin also leads a pop choir and teaches voice and guitar. Robert Campbell has been playing keyboards since the age of six. From pipe organs in church to a touring sideman for recording artists across Canada and the U.S., Robert also sings and manages much of the business side of Campbell + Green.

The duo have performed from east to west in Canada and have toured Europe. In 2020 they are planning both a cross

Canada tour and their fourth European tour. They have a number of albums to their credit, including their 2018 “On Being Human” and their newest Christmas album that is due any day. The duo will be sharing tastes of all of this on Monday.

This will be the final concert that Monday Music in Alma will present for a while as organizers go into hibernation mode and reconsider what the concert series may be in the future. On Monday, the yellow doors open at 7 p.m. and the music starts at 7:30 p.m. Admission is just $10 or what you can afford.
