• Weekly Card Party – at Bridgeville Community Hall, Saturdays at 7:30 pm. Lunch served. New wheelchair accessible bathrooms.
• Gamblers Anonymous – Gamblers Anonymous meeting held every Tuesday at
7:30 p.m. at the Trinity United Church, 151 Temperance Street, New Glasgow, N.S. (side door by office). Do you or someone you know have a gambling problem? Want to stop? We can help!
• Karaoke Night – at RCL Branch 35, Westville, Sunday nights with Kerry Williams from 7:30 – 11 p.m. Admission is $2/person.
• Classic Country Music Jam – every Tuesday at Lourdes Hall, 6:30 to 9 p.m. Light lunch served, 50/50 draw. $5 at the door no fee for players. For more information contact Bernie McCarron, (902) 928-0426.
• Stellarton Legion Chase the Ace – weekly Saturday Nights at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for sale daily in the lounge. Tickets $5 for 4. You do not need to be present to win.
• Weekly Music Circle Café Jam – Wednesdays 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. at West Branch Hall. Admission for players is free, listeners free will, $2.50 suggested. Limited kitchen. Proceeds; Community Hall. Shared sweets.
January 9
• Gaelic Friends – Have you ever wondered what it would be like to speak Gaelic? A small group of people with interest in speaking Gaelic are getting together every Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Pictou library. For January, the first meeting will be Jan. 9 at 1 p.m.
January 12
• Trenton Recreation Learn to Skate Program– sponsored by Trenton Recreation starts Sunday, Jan. 12, at the Trenton. Two programs are being offered: group lessons and parent and tot ice time. The group lessons include the basics of ice skating while the parent and tot ice time is specifically parents being on the ice with their child for the session. Cost is $60 per child for the group lessons and $30 per child for parents and tots. Family rates available. • Chase the Ace – Westville Rink and Westville Legion, 1-3 p.m. at the Westville Legion Br 35. Jackpot is $9,560.
January 13
• Women Alike Group Meeting – at Glen Haven Manor at 7 p.m. The guest speakers will be Jan MacDonald and Joanne Cumminger. This is a meeting for breast cancer survivors. There will be a few snacks provided at the end.
January 14
• Pictou County Mental Illness Family Support Group – will meet at Nova Scotia Community College, 39 Acadia Avenue Stellarton – Room B-120, 7-9 pm. Lisa
DeYoung, Manager of Viola’s Place, New Glasgow will give a presentation during the first hour and our regular meeting will follow. All welcome.

• Monthly Meeting – of the Pictou County Prostate Cancer Support Association at 7 p.m. in the UCT Building behind Summer Street Industries on Park Street, New Glasgow. The public is invited to attend. The building is wheelchair accessible. A social time will follow.
