LOCKHART, Audrey Agnes (Ginley)

It is with great sadness that the family of Audrey Agnes (Ginley) Lockhart, 88, announces her passing on Feb. 2, 2020 at Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth, NS. Born in Amherst, NS, she was the daughter of the late Anthony (known as Irish) and Hazel (Dornan) Ginley. She graduated high school in Amherst, NS and went on to graduate from Nurses Training at Hotel Dieu de L’Assomption Hospital in Moncton, NB as a Registered Nurse. She nursed in Amherst, Montreal, (She loved to tell a story about treating ‘Pocket’ Richard in the ER for a hockey injury) and New Glasgow, NS where she settled with her husband John Charles Lockhart to raise her family. Audrey is survived by her sisters, Dorothy MacDonald, Vancouver, BC, Betty Lou Campbell, Halifax, NS and Pat Cattran, Halifax, NS; as well as daughters, Debbie (Dwight) Coote, Bridgewater, NS, Donna (Wayne) Robberstad, Calgary, AB; a son, Derrick (Paula), New Minas, NS; 5 grandchildren and eleven greatgrandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, John Charles (Charlie); a sister, Mary; and brothers, Jack, Vince, Dick and Eddie. Audrey loved to knit, was an avid reader, and liked to play Cribbage and Solitaire. In keeping with Audrey’s wishes, cremation will take place and there will be a graveside Committal Service at a later date at Heatherdale Memorial Gardens, Sylvester, NS. Arrangements are under the direction of Eagles Funeral Home, Westville, NS. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. Her family would like to thank the Staff at Windsor Elms Village and Dr. Nick Williams, for the Loving care given to our Mom, especially in these latter days.
