Motorcyclist killed in Fort Erie
54-year-old resident of Fort Erie was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on the Niagara Parkway with two other motorcycles following in his group. Police said the rider lost control of his motorcycle and crossed into the northbound lane. At the same time, a 33-year-old Fort Erie man was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe and towing a boat northbound on the Niagara Parkway. Police said the Harley Davidson rider collided with the front of the Chevrolet and he suffered lifethreatening injuries. The rider was transported to an unspecified hospital out of the country where he died. Police said the driver of the Chevrolet suffered minor injuries but did not require any medical treatment. The two other motorcyclists were not involved in the collision. The collision remains under investigation.
Men subdued by intended victims, say police
Two men face charges after police investigated an unsuccessful break-in attempt at an apartment in Niagara Falls, Tuesday. Shortly before 6 p.m., according to Niagara Regional Police, the suspects entered an apartment on Victoria Avenue and attempted to remove items from the residence. Police say the occupants fought back and gained the upper hand on the suspects. Charged with break, enter and commit and fail to comply with probation is Jeremy Walter Bancer, 25, of no fixed address. Charged with break, enter and commit is Christopher Timothy Gervais, 32, also of no fixed address. Both were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
