Sleep Cheap reservations open Friday
Reservations for the 14th annual Sleep Cheap Charities Reap can be made starting at 8 a.m. Friday.
The event will once again run for five nights, from Nov. 12 to 16, as many popular hotels will offer rooms to only residents of Niagara region.
Minimum donations for rooms remain the same as last year — $35 per night for a standard room, $45 for a Fallsview room, $65 for a whirlpool room, and $85 for a room with access to a waterpark.
For a list of participating hotels, and for hotel booking information, visit sleepcheapcharitiesreap.com.
The Sleep Cheap Charities Reap committee is seeking applications from local charities serving Niagara Falls residents that are interested in receiving a donation from funds generated by the event.
Eligibility requirements and application forms can be found at niagarafalls.ca.
The application deadline is Nov. 17.
The 2017 recipients of the charitable donations, as selected by the committee through the application process, will be announced in December.
All of the proceeds raised through the event benefit local charities.
More than $1.7 million has been raised since the event’s inception in 2004.
In addition to the rooms, Sleep Cheap is once again offering some extra features for Niagara residents.
Tickets to Greg Frewin’s all ages Wild Magic show at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 13, 16 and 17 will be 50 per cent off.
Tickets are available at gregfrewintheatre.com with promo code Sleepcheap2017.
Bird Kingdom will once again offer 50 per cent off admission during Sleep Cheap with the donation of a non-perishable food item.
In the coming weeks, attraction information for the WonderFalls Pass 2017 will be announced.
The pass provides Niagara residents the opportunity to visit 10 of Niagara Falls’ “must-see” tourist attractions for $10 per person during the week of Sleep Cheap.
The initiative was created by Niagara Falls city Coun. Victor Pietrangelo in 2015.
To date, the pass has raised more than $38,000.
