Goodman’s Florist

-

Goodman’s Florist is your friendly local florist, happily taking care of all your floral needs! Established in 1923 by Fred & Nellie Goodman who started this family owned business (Nellie passed away at the age of 102!) Goodman’s Florist was first located on King Street next to the Rex Hotel until Leighton & Betty Goodman moved it to Division Street where we conducted business for over 50 years. In 1995, Wayne & Leslie Goodman and family built our existing store at 644 South Pelham Road. It was happily taken over by Cindy Goodman Douglas who is the 4th generation Goodman. Operated by, Cindy and her dad Wayne along with her wonderful staff Stacey Mallett & Heather Edgar. When needed for occasion, Leslie and grandkids Courtney Douglas and Hayden Goodman help out for a true family affair!

Though small but quaint, our rustic shop was made to make customers feel comfortable and very welcome. We specialize in custom designs; we have warm compassionate staff members that focus on the customers’ needs and satisfaction. Being a family owned business for 95 years we are honoured to continue to serve Welland and surrounding areas with our beautiful and unique designs. We have always stayed with what we know best and that’s flowers!

We take pride in being able to sit with families during happy times and sad times to arrange something that is specific to our customers’ needs whether it’s a wedding celebration or a celebration of life. We love to create custom designs specific to every individual; we have done many weddings over the years and have helped make happy memories for the brides and grooms on their special day.

When meeting with a family during their time of sorrow, we like to know as much about the family as possible. We encourage them to let us add a personal touch item to the arrangement that will reflect on the loved one that has passed. One picture comes to mind, (picture shown) this arrangement was made for a gentleman that loved his vegetable garden, so with that in mind the arrangement consisted of lettuce, celery, carrots, peppers, mushrooms, potatoes and other vegetables that he loved. We have also added many other personal items for arrangements for all occasions!

We have many loyal customers and each new customer we welcome with friendly faces and beyond friendly service. If you have never visited our shop, please stop by, you will be pleasantly surprised! Our shop may be small, but when you enter and you will feel the warmth and also be greeted with a big smile and friendly hello!

Love is in the air with Valentine’s Day approaching fast! We are looking forward to adding a little Romance to all of our orders. We like to refer to Goodman’s Florist as the little shop with a family smile and big heart! We treat each and every one more than just a customer, they’re more like friends or family so come visit us today, we’d love to meet you!
