CHARGES IN CLUB SHOOTING
Five people face a total of 49 charges related to a shooting at a Thorold nightclub last September
Niagara Regional Police say five people are facing a total of 49 criminal charges, including several gun-related charges, in connection with a September shooting at a Thorold nightclub.
Jeremy Chambers of Brampton, Jermaine Chapman of Mississauga, Shammar Miron of Scarborough, Junior Chapman of Mississauga and Justice Marshall of Brampton each face several criminal charges that include aggravated assault and obstructing a police officer.
Five people were shot outside the L8 nightclub on the corner of Highway 20 and Thorold Townline Road on Sept. 3, at about 4:45 a.m.
The four men and one woman all sustained injuries that were not life-threatening , police say.
At the time, police said they were looking for two suspects who fled the shooting in a darkcoloured sedan.
In a Wednesday news release, the NRP said it worked with officers from Peel Regional Police, Toronto Police Service and Ottawa Police Service, along with the
Provincial weapons enforcement unit to execute search warrants across the GTA.
Chambers, 31, faces 13 charges including five counts of aggravated assault, one count of discharging a firearm with the intent to wound and one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm.
Jermaine Chapman, 26, faces 15 charges, including five counts of aggravated assault, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm and one count of discharging a firearm with the intent to wound and one count of tampering with the serials numbers on a firearm.
Miron, 21, faces 14 criminal charges, including five counts of aggravated assault, three counts of break of recognizance, and discharging a firearm.
Twenty-eight year-old Junior Chapman faces five charges, including firearm trafficking and careless storage of a firearm.
Marshall, 22, is charged with obstructing a police officer and breach of recognizance.
