A message from the Executive Director of the South Niagara Chambers
Is it just me or does life get busier and busier. I know I’m going to age myself but I remember years ago organizing numerous power breakfasts and lunch and learns for our members and getting a full house of participants. These days it is tough to get folks out to these types of learning opportunities. Sometimes there just aren’t enough hours in a day and as business owners you must evaluate the ROI on that staff time. Through constant contact with our members, we understand the need for them to be informed on industry trends, changing legislation, technology, community programs and more. The dilemma is always time! So this year we introduced our Webinar Series. Through a unique partnership with local business Digital Tree, on the third Tuesday of every month from noon to 1p.m. we offer an educational opportunity for our members and their employees to tune in, ask questions and learn something from their own office, staff room or even comforts of home. For those who cannot afford to take the hour at noon, they can watch the webinar at their own leisure as all of the episodes are archived on our YouTube channel and easily accessible through our 4 South Niagara websites. The topics have been quite varied to ensure that we appeal to the needs of our vast membership. To date they have included: Every Business Needs an Operating System; Advertising and Marketing Definitions, Concepts and Principals; A Guide to Understanding Free Trade Zones; How to Attract and Retain Employees with Group Benefit Plans; and Social Enterprise 101 Making an Impact While Making Income As we continue to evolve the series we will strive to ensure that the topics are meaningful to our members and their employees.
