Indigenous Concert Series continues with DnA
Niagara Falls Public Library in partnership with Niagara Concerts presents the second event in their ongoing Indigenous Concert Series, with an after-hours event featuring the band DnA on Friday.
The two-hour concert starts 7 p.m. at the Victoria Avenue branch library. The concert is free to attend for all ages, but as space is limited. Space will be available for people wanting to experience the concert but who require a quieter, sensory friendly experience.
Making sweet music together for 19 years, blues/folk duo DnA comprises husband and wife Doug Boudreau and April Mitchell-Boudreau. Bringing Doug’s Acadian and April’s Haudenosaunee roots together, they embody the philosophy of the two row wampum teaching of mutual respect and harmony on and off the stage. A mix of covers by Canadian artists and their own original tunes, this acoustic experience is intimate and authentic.
“Our first concert in this series in partnership with Niagara Concerts and Kakekalanicks was such a success.” says Alicia Subnaik Kilgour, CEO.
Additional National Indigenous History Month events at the library include the launch of the Indigenous Collection, a exhibition of local Indigenous artists in the Rosberg Gallery, and “Let’s Talk About Reconciliation,” a film screening followed with a dialogue open to all members of the community.
