Bush to play Fallsview in October

- JOHN LAW The Niagara Falls Review

Niagara Fallsview Casino is going back to the ’90s — with a detour to the ’80s — for its October concert lineup.

The reunited Bush, whose long list of alt-rock hits include “Glycerine,” “Machinehead” and “Comedown,” will play the casino’s Avalon Ballroom Oct. 3. Led by singer/guitarist Gavin Rossdale, the band has sold more than 20 million albums globally. After splitting in 2002, they reformed in 2010 and have released three albums since, including last year’s “Black and White Rainbows.” Tickets start at $40.

Also taking the stage in October is Smash Mouth, who had a pair of hits synonymous with the ’90s – “All Star” and “Walkin’ on the Sun” — along with a cover of The Monkees’ “I’m a Believer” for the classic animated flick “Shrek.” They’ll perform Oct. 19 with tickets starting at $30.

Epic ’80s balladeers Air Supply, who’ve been regulars at Fallsview Casino since it opened in 2004, will return for a trio of shows Oct. 4 to 6. Tickets start at $40.

Rounding out the October slate of shows will be an extended run of the ’20s-inspired musical “Thoroughly Modern Millie” Oct. 11 to 18 (tickets start at $35); the Frank Sinatra tribute “Frank: The Man, The Music” Oct. 24 to 28 ($35); Sogno Italiano Oct. 20 and 21 ($80) and the Songwriters series featuring Phil Vassar Oct. 20 ($40).

Tickets for all shows go on sale noon Friday at the Fallsview box office, all Ticketmaster outlets and www.ticketmaster.ca.
