Arts Wall of Fame accepting submissions
Nominations are being accepted for this year’s Niagara Falls Arts & Culture Wall of Fame inductees.
Submissions can be put forward until July 30 by downloading the nomination form from the city’s website. Each should include a photo of the person nominated, and a summary of that person’s contributions to arts and culture in Niagara Falls.
Inductees are chosen by the Niagara Falls Arts, Culture & Museum Committee. In addition to its work, the committee considers the nominee’s community work, awards and recognition brought to Niagara Falls.
Since it began in 2006, 76 people have been inducted, including filmmaker James Cameron, EDM star Joel Zimmerman (Deadmau5) and journalist Barbara Frum. Last year saw the induction of Adam White, Larry Hurst and Bunnie Brandt-Wilson.
After a decade at Niagara Square, the wall was forced to move with the mall’s closure last year. It is currently housed at Niagara Falls Public Library, awaiting its new home at the city’s future cultural hub. Complete portraits and biographies can be seen on the city’s Culture Wall of Fame website.
Submissions can be delivered to the city’s recreation and culture department, care of Niagara Falls History Museum, at 5810 Ferry St.
An induction ceremony will take place in October.
