RE: ALL THE CHAIR’S MEN: D’ANGELO GOT CAO INTERVIEW QUESTIONS, ANSWERS WRITTEN BY CASLIN’S STAFF, JULY 26

I find it difficult to see how a person with the highest job at Niagara Region can ask newspapers and other media to stop reporting on him as it is stressful to him and family.

There is only one person who is creating the stress; look in a mirror Mr. D’Angelo. It is the people of Niagara who have been put under stress. It has been demonstrated he tried to remove freedom of the press from a council meeting, lock doors and instruct underlings to take possession of a reporter’s private property. That is removal of someone’s charter of rights and freedoms, but there has been no punishment or legal action.

Now there’s an investigation into his hiring for the position of CAO — and he gets to recommend the investigator? In all of this the people of Niagara have to continue to pay for the misdirected actions and words of the regional politicians and staff. When will persons in the public service get a backbone and stand up and take responsibility for their actions and words, or has responsibility and morality disappeared from the minds of these persons?

It looks like we are at the bottom of the pile again. As we head into this year’s election, think, investigate and check out the history of everyone you vote for. But get everyone out to vote, and try and clean up this mess.
