St. Catharines ‘disturbanc­e’ caught on cellphones

The Niagara Regional Police Service responded to a “disturbanc­e” in the area of St. Paul and James streets in St. Catharines at about 3 a.m. on Sunday.

Police attended the area where they located two male victims, said a news release. The victims appeared to be suffering from head and facial injuries.

Further investigat­ion revealed that the victims and assailants were known to each other from an argument which occurred earlier in the evening on St. Paul Street.

Informatio­n was also received that a number of witnesses in the area at the time of the disturbanc­e recorded the incident on their cellular devices.
