-

The FirstOntario Performing Arts’ Hot Ticket season has added two new shows to the schedule.

Country singer Dean Brody and First Nations dance group A Tribe Called Red are late additions to an already busy season announced in the spring.

Brody will bring his Dirt Road Stories acoustic tour to the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre Nov. 1, coming off a summer in which he headlined at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage.

The British Columbia singer has racked up 16 Canadian Country Music Association awards since releasing his debut album in 2009. He’s also a two-time Juno winner for Country Album of the Year, for 2013’s Crop Circles and 2015’s Gypsy Road.

Opening for Brody will be Andrew Hyatt.

Tickets are $75 regular, $65 Hot Ticket members.

A Tribe Called Red will bring its electronic show to the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre Nov. 23, fresh off its 2018 Juno for Group of the Year. Tickets are $30. The Ottawa-based group, which formerly counted Fort Erie’s Dan ‘DJ Shub’ General among its ranks, has been one of the country’s top EDM acts since their Polaris Prize-nominated debut in 2012.

Other shows for the 2018/19 Hot Ticket season include Serena Ryder Oct. 11, Jim Cuddy Oct. 3 and 4, and Shad Nov. 9.

Tickets for all shows are available at the www.firstontariopac.ca.
