Secrecy award hypocritical, writes reader

RE: NIAGARA REGION RECOGNIZED AS CANADA’S MOST SECRETIVE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT, OCT. 15

Everyone agrees that our regional government has been dysfunctional. Ironic is the fact that James Turk, director of the Centre for Free Expression at Ryerson University, together with people from the Canadian news media and Canadian Journalists for Free Expression, are handing out this very dubious award.

The hypocrisy of this event is so thick. We don’t have freedom of expression in Canada.

Political correctness rules in Canada implemented by the political left to shut up everyone with a different opinion. Expressions and opinions not in line with the political left are banned. We see that on social media where these are removed.

The same we see with newspaper articles which are ignored. But the worst places are universities and colleges where students are indoctrinated with liberal doctrine by their professors. Students with conservative views are harassed by their professors and their peers. These students are accused of discrimination, racism and all kinds of phobias for only disagreeing; not hate speech.

Democracy in Canada is on its way out. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is taking care of that as we saw with the Summer Job Program, because tens of thousands of Canadians didn’t agree with him.
