One week after posting the highest triple (921) in the Niagara 5-Pin Mixed Pro League this season, Chantal Papineau had another fine week but was overshadowed by Dave Pendlebury.

He upped the bar this week by rolling a 927 (249, 311, 367) to lead the Dale Mellway Life Insurance Magic to a 2-1 decision over Papineau’s Oh Canada Eh Dinner Show Canucks.

The win was a team affair for the Magic as Pendlebury was backed up by Paul Asselin’s 745 (252, 206, 287), Wendy Bonnette’s 680 (301) and

Brad Gaudreau rounding things out with 676 (234, 238).

Replying for the Canucks was Papineau, who maintained her hot start to the season, tossing a fantastic 872 (286, 254, 332), and Sarah Stevens, who followed up with 727 (261, 228, 238).

The Lakeside Electrical Lightning were one of two teams to sweep their matches as they blanked the Reggie’s Renovations Inc. Hammerheads 3-0. John Wendel was the sparkplug for the winners throwing a solid 767 (280, 220, 267) while son Tyler Wendel chipped in with 695 (254, 230).

The Hammerheads answered with Jordan Terry’s 627 (231, 234).

The other sweep came at the hands of the Scorecard Harry’s Half Pints as they whitewashed the Wine Place Whiners 3-0. Kayla Ferguson had the hot hand for the Half Pints, firing a steady 724 (222, 284, 218) while getting help from Shawn Pellizari’s 688 (229, 269).

The Whiners shot back with Rob Macdonald’s 722 (242, 269, 211) and Jeff Stevens with 642 (227).

In the night’s final match, The Oh Canada Eh Dinner Show Town Criers and Ontario Street Boston Pizza Brutes split their series, each winning one game and settling for a rare tie in the last game.

The Town Criers were led by Kile Robins’ 760 (232, 230, 298), while getting backup from Rob Fisher’s 732 (259, 238, 235), Brad Maurice’s 715 (250, 268) and Mike Owen who chipped in with 688 (212, 267).
