CloudLibrary can send your favourite reads virtually
As the weather is becoming a bit frightful you may find it difficult to get over to your favourite library location for a good read.
Have no fear, cloudLibrary is here! CloudLibrary is Niagara Falls Public Library’s new ebook and e-audiobook platform. All you have to do is download the app from yourcloudlibrary.com. Signup is quick and easy. A simple to use way to get your favourite books and no more late fees.
For our faithful customers who are currently using the Overdrive platform, please make note that you will want to transfer your reserved titles over to cloudLibrary by Dec. 17 as you will no longer have access to it after this date.
If you’re itchin’ to get moving you’ll want to check out some of the great weekend activities and programs going on at the library in December. Dancing to the Beat Kids’ Dance Party is a great time for kids of all ages to let loose. Don’t forget your dancing shoes on Sunday, Dec. 9, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. at the Victoria Avenue library.
Kids of all ages can come and get some slippery, sticky, hands-on-experience at the Victoria Avenue library on Sunday, Dec. 2 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Sensory Play Sunday. Warning: dress to get messy.
Who let the dogs out at the library? All ages are invited to our December Therapy Tails visits. Read to a dog, hang out with a dog and hug a dog. Therapy Tails dogs are great for relaxation and can encourage children to read to the dogs. Join the dogs and their owners at the Community Centre library on Saturday, Dec. 8, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m and at the Victoria Avenue library on Saturday, Dec. 22, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The final concert in our Indigenous Concert Series features Nigel Irwin, singer-songwriter of the Cree nation. Nigel grew up in Niagara and has been releasing music since 2015 with a collection of sounds including jazz, electronic, low-fi hip hop and ’60s rock. Nigel performs at the Victoria Avenue library on Friday, Dec. 14, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Fans of our chamber concerts won’t want to miss a final concert of the year featuring Gerardo Molina, concert pianist and Marcela Lagunas, cellist. This duo along with their students will delight their audience in a concert titled: Christmas music and something more. The duo and friends perform at the Victoria Avenue library on Saturday, Dec. 15, at 3 p.m. No registration is required but space is limited.
