GFECC hosts its 13th Annual Black Cat Gala Auction with great success!
Wednesday, November 15, 2019- (Fort Erie, ON) — On Friday, November 9th the Greater Fort Erie Chamber of Commerce hosted its Annual Black Cat Auction Gala with a portion of the proceeds going towards their Student Bursary Awards Program. Presented by PenFinancial Credit Union, the night featured a silent &live auction, dinner, dessert and ticket raffles.
This year, the Chamber added something new to the event by having its infamous dessert auction hosted by none other than Mayor Redekop himself. The crowd roared with excitement as the Mayor auctioned off rich desserts from Nigh’s Chocolate Shop, De Healthy Baker and from BoHo Studio and Gallery.
“One should never underestimate the enthusiasm of hungry diners to outbid their neighbours for a fine dessert,” the Mayor states. “The Chamber provided a great opportunity for diners to mix a hankering for sweets with the opportunity to contribute to the future success of our students.”
After the dessert auction and a delicious meal provided by Feastivities Catering and the Pomegranate Restaurant, things got exciting with the live auction. Featuring one-of-a-kind items, guests were eager to cast their bids, as our auctioneer Darren Flagg kept things moving!

Paddles were raised all night long to support the annual fundraiser. The night’s success could not be possible without the help of the local businesses who donate goods and services to the event.
