Library still offering up magical summertime fun

Summer is flying by but there’s still lots of fun to be had at the library.

More than 300 kids have joined the Summer Reading Club. They visit the library to tell us about the great books they’ve read and to collect prizes.

After the kids have completed 10 visits, they get to collect grandprize ballots. There are lots of incredible prizes to be won, including tickets to Marineland, tickets to the Niagara IceDogs, a gallon of slime and more. Keep reading to increase your chances of winning.

All ages are welcome today at 2 p.m. at Crystal Ridge to play with giant blue building blocks. Build a life-sized castle, fort, dragon, airplane and more. Children under age seven must be accompanied by an adult.

On Wednesday, Aug. 21, come to our Stevensville Branch in your pyjamas for games, crafts and bedtime stories.

Don’t forget to bring your stuffie, which will stay behind for a Stuffie Sleepover. Who knows what wacky fun they’ll get up to after the library closes.

On Friday, Aug. 23, at 2 p.m., we will welcome Mystic Drumz, an incredible world music percussion show, to our Centennial branch. Featured instruments include a Nigerian talking drum, Brazilian quica, vibraslap, flextone, Chinese gongs and more.

It’s Family Movie Night at Crystal Ridge on Wednesday, Aug. 28. We will be showing “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World,” at 6:30 p.m. All ages are welcome; children under age seven must be accompanied by an adult.

Come and celebrate the end of Summer Reading Club with a Reading Party on Friday, Aug. 30, from 1 to 3 p.m. at our Centennial branch.

Join us for buttons, pizza and slime making.
