Neighbours left with concerns after fatal Beamsville shooting
Lincoln residents in a newly built subdivision — some who have only been living in their homes for a few months — say they are left with concerns after a fatal shooting early Sunday.
Homicide detectives are investigating events at a residence in the area of Fracchioni Drive and Cachet Court that left one man dead. Police were called to the Beamsville neighbourhood shortly after midnight for reports of a suspicious person, and learned gunshots had been heard in the area.
The residence on Fracchioni Drive where the body was discovered remained cordoned off by caution tape Monday afternoon.
A police cruiser sat with a view to the back of the row of townhouses. Another, joined by a forensics van, sat out front of the townhouses. Neighbours were being interviewed by police.
“It’s scary,” said Kiran Sidhu, who lives nearby with her family, including two children ages 10 and 17.
Having only moved into the neighbourhood last year, she said the shooting has her worried. She hopes it’s an isolated incident and not a sign of what’s to come.
Jennie Tuytukova, who moved into the neighbourhood with her husband in August, echoed those sentiments, noting she now feels less secure. Another neighbour said there were often different cars and people coming and going from the house.
Police have released few details about what transpired on the morning of Nov. 1, other than it appears to be a targeted incident.
Officers have not released the identity of the deceased.
Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives with the homicide unit at 905-688-4111, option 3 and badge #9132.
Police are asking anyone who was in the area and has dash cams or video surveillance to review their footage and contact detectives or Crime Stoppers.
