Kids will have to do without some traditions this Christmas but talking to Santa doesn’t have to be one of them.

Niagara Falls social media entrepreneur Brandon Mimms wants to take Santa out of the malls and onto your computer screen, where he can chat live with kids via Zoom or Google

Meet. Launched this week, Sessions with Santa aims to fill the gap as mall Santas across Canada sit 2020 out because of COVID-19.

“It was created to give children the Santa experience during the pandemic, however this is something that we hope to continue in the future,” says Mimms, whose social media partnerships have created accounts with more than 6 million followers.

Even after the pandemic is over, he sees virtual visits as a way to navigate busy schedules and long lines for children who want some one-on-one time with St. Nick.

The service has two options: A live four-minute video call with Santa ($39.99) or a one-minute personalized video message ($19.99). In each case, parents fill out questionnaires so Santa knows the child’s name, age, what they want for Christmas, etc. The video is sent within three days of the order.

Mimms says the service is open to anyone, not just Niagara residents.

“Our goal is to provide children a personalized virtual experience with Santa Claus in a

COVID-friendly, unique and personal experience like no other.”

A portion of the proceeds will go to Ronald McDonald House in Toronto.
