Excalibur 3-0 in rugby preseason

The Trent Excalibur men’s rugby team completed a perfect 3-0 preseason with a 22-6 win over the Queen’s Gaels in Kingston on Saturday.

Earlier in the weekend, the women’s rugby team suffered a 38-23 loss in an away game against York University.

In varsity soccer action, the Trent women lost 9-1 to Ottawa U on Saturday with both the women’s and men’s teams losing their Sunday matches against Carleton, 6-1 and 3-1 respectively.

Competing in the University of Toronto Early Bird Tournament, Trent’s women’s lacrosse team recorded one win, two ties, and a loss.

On the men’s side, Excalibur lost 13-9 in a game against Bishops on Saturday and 14-13 against Queen’s the following day.

BANTAMS WIN PAIR

The Peterborough Foley Bus Lines Minor Bantam AAA Petes tallied two wins Saturday at the Sensplex AAA September Shootout Tournament held in Ottawa.

In their first game, the Petes defeated the Huron-Perth Lakers 3-1.

Brett Robertson scored two goals for Peterborough with a single added by Nolan Burke. Owen Guest and Kalvyn Watson assisted. Will Cranley supported the team in net.

Facing the Markham Majors in their last round robin game, the team recorded a 2-0 win.

Alex Ferrier and Gabriel Lemire scored for Peterborough assisted by Nolan Burke. Will Craig earned the shutout.

That brought their record to 2-2 at the tourney.
