Jeff Dunham goes Hollywood
Comedian and ventriloquist calls cranky Walter back into play
The TV universe is constantly expanding, and new channels and shows vie for attention just as much as old favourites. Here are the best bets on the box.
Jeff Dunham: Unhinged in Hollywood
The comedian and ventriloquist gets a new showcase that was taped in Hollywood in August. Dunham calls many of his most popular characters, including the perpetually cranky Walter, back into play as he also welcomes several guests: country-music superstar Brad Paisley, Saturday Night Live alum Chris Parnell and UFC veteran Chuck Liddell. Behind-the-scenes footage is also included during the hour. (NBC)
Graceland
No Old Tigers, the season finale, finds the Graceland agents trying to collect themselves in the aftermath of the gang war. Briggs (Daniel Sunjata), has one loose end he must track down as he tries to bring Ari Adamian (guest star Rhys Coiro), to justice. Aaron Tveit, Manny Montana and Annie Ilonzeh also star. (Bravo)
Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll
In the Season 1 finale, Because We’re Legion, musician Greg Dulli from The Twilight Singers and Afghan Whigs sets Gigi (Elizabeth Gillies), up with a wellrespected producer from the West Coast. Ordinarily, Johnny (Denis Leary), might greet that news with mixed emotions at best, but instead, he’s tickled pink — mainly because Flash (John Corbett), absolutely hates it. Elaine Hendrix also stars. (FX Canada)
Cedar Cove
When it becomes obvious that Will (Cameron Bancroft), would be happy to prolong his visit indefinitely, Olivia (Andie MacDowell), is determined to make him pull his own weight or move out of her home, in the new episode The Good Fight. Jack (Dylan Neal), finds himself facing a moral dilemma and a test of loyalties at work, where he is offered Jeri’s (Julia Benson), job, much to her explosive displeasure. Warren (Brennan Elliott), is likewise furious that Olivia has sold her share of Charlotte’s house to Buck (Tom Butler). (W)
Mat Franco’s Got Magic
The Season 9 winner of America’s Got Talent is seen readying his recently launched Las Vegas act, with encouragement from a bounty of celebrities, in this new two-hour special. Neil Patrick Harris (who’s launching his own NBC variety show), Heidi Klum, music’s Jason Mraz, the New England Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski and fellow magicians Penn & Teller make appearances, as Franco stops in various locations while trekking from his Rhode Island home to Vegas. (NBC, OMNI 1)
How to Get Away With Murder
In an encore of the first-season finale, It’s All My Fault, the circumstances of Lila’s death become even more clear — just as another murder rocks Annalise (Viola Davis), and her law students. She consoles Wes (Alfred Enoch), over his feelings of extreme guilt over all that’s happened. Oliver (Conrad Ricamora), alarms Connor (Jack Falahee), with a revelation. The new season premières next Thursday. (ABC)
