Amandala’s is a new restaurant in downtown Peterborou­gh. Owner Amanda Menard describes it as a quaint 34 seat restaurant with exposed brick and a patio. Chef Simon Brown specialize­s in fresh local ingredient­s prepared from scratch. New look

Peterborou­gh Community Savings recently gave their Brock Street building a facelift. President Beth Bruesch says it’s the first update since the building was built in 1969 and they are pleased with the fresh new look while keeping the local Lift Lock theme. www.peterborou­ghcs.ca

Electric vehicles

Some Chamber of Commerce news to pass along this week. The Bancroft and District Chamber of Commerce recently celebrated the installati­on of their own Electric Vehicle Charging Station. The Level Two Charging Station was actually donated by Luke and Margo Lee Burton, with support from local Bancroft businesses including Mr. Stone Landscapin­g, Boyer GM, Vance Motors, Remax, Penn and McGuire Electric, McDougall Insurance and State Farm Insurance. The Kawartha Chamber is accepting nomination­s for the 17th Annual Business Awards of Excellence. Nomination­s can be submitted at www.kawarthach­amber.ca/nomination­s. The deadline is Monday, September 12th. Nomination­s are not limited to Chamber members, and any business, organizati­on or individual in the County of Peterborou­gh can be nominated!
