Senior Ti-Cats 2-0 in KMFL

The Senior Tiger Cats improve their record to 2-0 after defeating the Redblacks 24-14 in Kinsmen Minor Football League action over the weekend. Jamie Hubble scored two rushing touchdowns of 66 and 50 yards for the Tiger Cats with Nate Oakway scoring one touchdown on an intercepti­on and one rushing touchdown of seven yards. Scoring for the Redblacks, Makenna McFarlane scored two rushing touchdowns of five and eight yards with Hayden McIlmoyle adding two points on a conversion. The Senior Eskimos also continued their winning streak, defeating the Argonauts 28-0. Carson Harvey scored three rushing touchdowns of 19, 40 and 42 yards with a single touchdown from Chet Goheen on a rush of 38 yards. Ryan Forsythe added four points on converts. In Junior KMFL action, the Redblacks defeated the Tiger Cats 31-30 in a tightly contested game leaving both teams at 1-1 on the season. Patrick Adderly led the Redblacks with four rushing touchdowns of 30, 25, 20, and 17. Andrew Goode scored a two-yard rushing touchdown and Daniel Cannon’s conversion gave the team the final point needed to seal the victory. Tristan Ross and Kolby Hubbert recorded two touchdowns each for the Tiger Cats with Ross earning six points in conversion­s. Concluding this weekend’s action, the Junior Argonauts rebounded after last week’s loss to defeat the Eskimos 20-7. Charlie Matthews recorded two rushing touchdowns of 25 and six yards for the Argonauts while Aidan Vesnaver added an 18-yard rushing touchdown. Garrett Vesnaver contribute­d two points on a conversion. Lucas Brooks scored an 18-yard rushing touchdown for the Eskimos with David McNelly adding a single point conversion.
