BOOBIETRAPS SET FOR ANNUAL BRAS AROUND THE BUILDING DRIVE

-

Bras bandits Mel Hannah, from left, Denise Vallee, Jenn Darling, Sue Dunkley, Alison Payne, Emily Vassiliadis, Anne Arnold and Vince Bierworth help promote the sixth annual Bras Around The Building Campaign during a launch Tuesday morning at City Hall. Some local businesses and organizations across Peterborough Lindsay, including City Hall, were ‘boobietrapped’ when the bra bandits hung bras on doorknobs to encourage participation and donations for the 2016 campaign. Each bra had a card attached urging the return of the bra to be donated to the campaign. Energy 99.7, Country 105, and 91.9 BOB FM, in partnership with Shorelines Slots at Kawartha Downs, are seeking donations of used bras and funds for the event that marks October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The campaign concludes Oct. 28. For every bra collected, Shorelines Slots Kawartha Downs will make a $1 donation, with proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society to support breast cancer research. Bra donations can be dropped off until Oct. 27 at locations including Energy 99.7/Country 105 (59 George St. N., Peterborough), 91.9 BOB FM (249 Kent Street W., Lindsay), Shorelines Slots at Kawartha Downs (1382 County Rd. 28, Fraserville), and the Canadian Cancer Society of Peterborough and District (750 The Kingsway, Unit 2, Peterborough). On the morning of Oct. 28, with help from the Peterborough and City of Kawartha Lakes firefighters, collected bras will be strung together around the exterior of the Energy 99.7/Country 105 building in Peterborough and the 91.9 BOB FM building in Lindsay.
