Irwin Island Resort co-founder dies

A funeral will be held Tuesday for the co-founder of the Irwin Island Resort near Crowes Landing on Stoney Lake in Douro-Dummer Township. Norma Irwin, 97, died Tuesday at Extendicare Lakefield. She was the mother of three children. Her husband Ross Irwin died last year. Visitation is Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hendren Funeral Homes Norwood Chapel. The funeral service is Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Norwood United Church. Her family is asking that memorial donations be made to Norwood United Church, Carmel United Church or any other charity.
