Clonsilla/Sherbrooke now worst for collisions

The intersection of Clonsilla Avenue and Sherbrooke Street has moved back into first place as the city’s intersection with the most collisions, according to the city police traffic unit.

Clonsilla and Sherbrooke had 25 collisions in 2016, up nine from 2015 when it was third worst, bumping the Lansdowne Street and Monaghan Road corner out of first place after it had been in first the three previous years.

Lansdowne and Monaghan fell right out of the Top 10 for 2016.

Meanwhile Chemong Road and Bellevue Street shot up to the second worst intersection last year with 18 collisions. It wasn’t even in the 2015 list and ranked 11th in 2014.

Several other intersections trended up into the Top 10 last year: Lansdowne and Lock, Lansdowne and Webber, Monaghan/ Sherbrooke and Lansdowne/ High.

Meanwhile Clonsilla/The Parkway was in a tie for second with Chemong/Bellevue at 18 collisions, five more than 2015 when it ranked fifth.

The Lansdowne/Parkway, which had been second for collisions in 2015, slipped to fourth.
