Public Energy seeks board members

Public Energy is looking for new board members to help guide and shape the non-profit arts organizati­on’s path forward.

Describing itself as “a cultural catalyst,” Public Energy brings innovative dance, theatre and performanc­e to Peterborou­gh’s Market Hall and other locations around the city each year.

With the 24th season coming up, the board is looking for new faces.

“Public Energy is mandated to support the creation, touring, and presentati­on of innovative contempora­ry performing arts, both locally and from around the globe, and to develop artists and audiences that are knowledgea­ble and passionate about the performing arts in Peterborou­gh,” states a release.

Board members would, ideally, have experience and interest in one or more important areas: Performing arts Fundraisin­g and special event planning

Arts education Strategic planning

Marketing communicat­ions Community outreach Not-for-profit governance Public Energy board members forge links with the community, both in the arts sector and elsewhere. The board meets 10 times a year, with terms lasting two years. and

Board members are also asked to act as Public Energy ambassador­s, attending events and activities year-round
