Trade Show to be held at Lady Eaton
LadyEatonElementarySchoolwill hold a Trade Show on March 30 from 5 to 9 p.m. Admission is free; vendors, $40. Call the school at 705-799-5292 to reserve a space. Proceeds of the event will help purchase games and activities for students.
Soil workshops
Secrets of the Soil lunch and learn will be held March 14. This workshop will focus on how good soil can increase yields, reduce fertilizer needs, prevent erosion and save money. The East Central Soil and Crop Improvement Association will be holding a soil health workshop at Manvers Community Centre, 697 Hwy 7A, Bethany, March 22, 10 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Topics to be discussed are improving soil biology, reducing soil loss, building organic matter, cover crops, strip tillage and more. Renown soil biologist Odette Menard will be guest speaker.

Farm show
The East Central Farm Show will be held Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Commonwell Exhibition Building, Lindsay fairgrounds. Admission is $5 or free with a Soil and Crop membership.
This show has exhibitors from all sectors of agriculture and offers a chance to gather information as well as socialize with other farmers.
Pesticide
A pesticide handling course will be held in Lindsay on April 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For further details or to register call 800-652-8573. Classes are filling up quickly so call to reserve your seat soon.
Legion
The jam sessions continue at the Legion, March 18, beginning at 1 p.m. Come and enjoy the music or bring your non-acoustic instrument and join in the fun.
The Legion will host a St. Patrick’s Day dance featuring Sticks and Tones, March 11, 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tickets are $10 per person and available at the Legion Call 705-799-5095 to reserve a ticket or two.
The Omemee Seniors meet at the Legion, March 7, 14 and 28 for euchre, beginning at 1 p.m. March 21, 12:30 p.m. for a potluck luncheon. Bring your own utensils, plate and mug along with your favourite edible dish for the meal.

Community Care offers many programs for the residents of City of Kawartha Lakes.
