Complaints about door-to-door salesman

-

ENNISMORE - Peterborough County OPP issued a warning Friday about a suspicious door-todoor salesman in the Ennismore area. The detachment received several complains about a man selling furnaces on Wednesday night in the Ennismore area of Selwyn Township. He was described to have been using aggressive techniques in his attempts to sell his product, police said. The complaints prompted police to issue a warning to homeowners to be careful whenever they have unknown people coming to their home. “Always check for identification to verify who the person is and what company they are representing,” community safety officer Richard Nie stated. “Never let people into your home to check your appliances, etc. unless you have made a service call yourself. If you are uncertain about the individual contact the company to verify if the person is employed there or contact the police.” People can reached the Peterborough County OPP detachment at 705-742-0401 or the non-emergency line at 1-888-3101122 after hours.
