Fundraising at the game
City police officers will be “tolling” the crowd at Saturday night’s Petes game at the Memorial Centre, raising funds for Special Olympics Ontario. Police will also take part in the ceremonial puck drop at 7 p.m. before the game. The uniformed officers passing buckets through the crowd Saturday will be volunteering their time at the fundraiser. Sponsor Great Clips, a newly opened hair salon at Lansdowne St. W. and The Parkway,, will also be on hand to offer haircuts, with proceeds going to the cause as well. City police officers have been long-time supporters of Special Olympics via the Law Enforcement Torch Run and other events.
