Hull up for coach of the year; four players also award finalists

Five Petes including head coach

Jody Hull are finalists for six OHL year-end awards.

The league announced its six finalists for each league award and the 20 nominees for the Red Tilson Trophy for Most Outstandin­g Player on Thursday.

Hull is nominated for coach of the year against Drew

Bannister (Sault Ste. Marie), Dave Bell (Niagara), Bob

Jones (Oshawa), Kris Knoblauch

(Erie) and Ryan McGill (Owen Sound). Dylan Wells is the Petes’ nominee for the Red Tilson Trophy as well as one of six finalists for goalie of the year against Jeremy Brodeur(Oshawa), Michael DiPietro (Windsor), Jeremy Helvig (Kingston), Michael McNiven (Owen Sound) and Tyler Parsons (London). Steve Lorentz is up for the overage player of the year against Brodeur, Santino Centorame (Owen Sound), Bobby MacIntyre (SaultSte.Marie), Ryan Mantha (Niagara) and Darren Raddysh (Erie).

Matt Timms is nominated for the top defenceman award against Centorame, Mantha, Raddysh, Vili Saarjijarv­i (Mississaug­a) and Mikhail Sergachev (Windsor). Nikita Korostelev is a finalist for most sportsmanl­ike player against Lucas Chiodo (Barrie), Joseph Garreffa (Kitchener), Jason Robertson (Kingston), Nick Suzuki

(Owen Sound) and Robert Thomas (London). Peterborou­gh native Owen

Tippett (Mississaug­a) was also nominated for the Red Tilson award. The award winners will be announced throughout the OHL playoffs.

Round Two Tickets

While the Petes wait to see who their Eastern Conference semifinal opponent will be tickets for home games one and two go on sale 9:30 a.m Friday at the Memorial Centre box office.

As the Petes are the first team to advance in their conference, the schedule for round two, including dates, times and opponent, are not yet known. The second round will not start before Wednesday.

Season ticket holders must contact the Petes or the PMC Collins Barrow Box Office by 4:30 p.m. on the day before Game 1 to secure their tickets for that round. Season ticket holders have exclusive access to the preauthori­zed playoff ticket program, which is a convenient way to secure the same seats for all playoff games.

Roster Notes

With Matt Timms sidelined for Game 4, and listed as day-to-day, with an upper body injury, the Petes had to make their first line-up change of the series. Matyas Svoboda was added at forward while Cole Fraser dropped back to defence after starting the series at forward. Pavel Gogolev was a healthy scratch.
