Peterborough Curling Club rink third at playdowns
The Peterborough Minor Hockey Council held its year-end awards banquet Wednesday night at the Kinsmen Civic Centre. The Peterborough Minor Hockey Council celebrated the end of the 2016-17 season with its annual awards banquet at the Kinsmen Civic Centre on Wednesday night.
Master of ceremonies Pete Dalliday, co-host of 100.5 FM Fresh Mornings with Pete and Catherine, kicked off the evening by interviewing Minor Petes alumni Cedric Ralph and Quinn Hanna of the OHL Guelph Storm, along with Matt McNamara and Logan DeNoble of the OHL Petes.
Their message to the young players: have fun, enjoy your time with your teammates and work hard. The following are the 2016 PHC award winners:
Goaltenders Award
(presented annually to the goaltending duo with the best goals against average):

Peterborough Curling Club rinks led by Ab Doyle and Jason Hogan teamed up to place third at the Silver Tankard Provincial Playdowns in Ajax on the weekend. The teams reached the event by winning the regional qualifier in Lakefield and provincial qualifier at Tam Heather earlier this season making it to the final four. Curling with skip Ab Doyle were Reis Brauch vice, Brad Robinson second and Enzo Tarantino lead. Hogan’s team consisted of Brad Kidd skip, Hogan vice, Rob Lewis second and Andrew Gerrits lead.
