Petes draft picks in Gold Cup
Five Petes draft picks are among 60 players selected for the 2017 OHL Gold Cup from May 3 to 7 in Kitchener, the Ontario Hockey Federation announced on Tuesday.
The Gold Cup is an eight-team tournament used in the selection process for Canada’s three entries in the annual World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. Selected players from the Gold Cup will advance to the final Hockey Canada camp in July.
Petes draft picks selected include third round pick Cameron Supryka, fourth round selection Daniel Panetta, fifth-round choice Jagger O’Toole, sixth-round pick Andrew Horsley and 10th rounder Ryan Richardson.
Petes’ first-round selection Nick Robertson is not eligible for the Gold Cup because he is an American citizen.
Roster notes
The Petes iced the same lineup for a fourth consecutive game. Kingston made one change removing Sergey Popov and inserting Josh Supryka.
